| Stewardship: Working the Family Business | |
Even in the multinational business environment of today, there are millions of small family businesses across the globe. In these family businesses, everyone has a place and every family member must fulfill his or her responsibilities in order that the business continues and thrives.
At baptism, we are adopted into God's family. and into the business of His mission. Each Christian is called to live in the free and joyous activity of being a child of God in God's family, the church, investing one's life and resources in the business of God's mission.
In response to a survey conducted a few years ago, the California-Nevada-Hawaii District has worked diligently to develop ways in which the communication between the District and our congregations communicate. Christian Life Ambassadors (CLAs) are one of the fruits of the district's labor. CLAs work as communications links between the CNH District and their own congregations to help everyone live as active participants in God's family business.
Purpose of CLAs
To be a part of a network of initiators, implementers, educators, and motivators for the purpose of developing participants in investing all of life and life's resources for God's purposes (stewardship).
CLAs are trained to engage their fellow-members in the Christian stewardship of life. They work as communications links between the CNH District and their congregation, and to educate and motivate others to commit themselves as full participants in the business of God's family.
Responsibilities & Qualifications of CLAs
CLAs are the link between the District Stewardship Task Force resource center and their congregations. They attend training sessions, subscribe to the
CLAs are also responsible for communicating information related to Christian life with the pastoral staff, church leaders, and specific committees, groups or individuals.
In Touch weekly e-newsletter, and are familiar with the Congregational Stewardship Workbook (supplied by the District office).
Additionally, CLAs evaluate progress made in the spiritual growth of the congregation's year-round stewardship of the mission and report to the CNH District Stewardship Task Force.
CLAs should:
Have a desire to bring the kingdom of God to people both personally and as a part of a congregation by reaching out into the community with the Gospel
